Prior to any IPL treatment, a thorough consultation will be carried out, the cost of the consultation is fully refundable upon your first IPL treatment
IPL hair reduction treatments are a safe, easy painless and quick solution to unwanted hair and can be successfully used on the body or the face. Usually a course of 6-8 treatments is required to achieve an optimal result, but once you’ve completed your treatment cycle, you can look forward to a lifetime of smooth skin with only the occasional maintenance treatment. Compare that cost and hassle of a lifetime of waxing.
How does IPL work? A fully trained therapist will apply a specially designed hand piece to your skin and generate an intense pulse of light which will be absorbed by targets in your skin. The light delivered from the hand piece is delivered at high intensity during a very short period of time. It is this rapid discharge of light that provides the high energy levels required for each IPL session to be effective.
Who can have IPL? Most people can have IPL treatments, at your initial consultation your therapist will determine your suitability. Please consult your doctor if you are unsure. People who have dark skin or who have been tanning are more at risk.
Do IPL treatments hurt? No skin desensitisation is required, you may feel a slight level of discomfort with each application but will reduce as the area being treated responds to the therapy.
Are there any short term side effects? Short term side effects are possible, redness can occur but will disappear soon after the treatment.
Is there any downtime after the treatment? Generally you will return to normal activities straight after the treatment, a minimum of 4 weeks is required before the treated area can be exposed to sunlight.
How often do I need to come in? Treatments are generally spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
